Fire Log Pose: Agnistambhasana | Traditional
Benefits
Builds strength, mobility, and breathing awareness with steady alignment. Particularly helpful for feeling steady and present.
Props
Blanket or blocks optional.
Hold Time
5 to 8 breaths
Cautions
Practice within a pain-free range. Reduce depth or use props for knee, low back, neck, wrist, or shoulder sensitivity.
Entering Fire Log Pose
Sit with one shin parallel to the front edge of the mat. Stack the second shin on top so the ankles and knees line up as much as possible. Sit evenly through the sitting bones and stay upright or fold forward. Take a steady inhale to create length, then use the exhale to settle into the final shape.
Exiting Fire Log Pose
Lean back onto the hands. Unstack the legs slowly and stretch them forward. Pause in a neutral position for a moment before continuing.
